The CDA® is the best first step on the path of career advancement in the early care and education industry. The CDA® credential teaches you how to put important education concepts into practice. Our CDA Training follows the steps outlined by the Council for Professional Recognition. This training format strengthens and streamlines the assessment process. How do I get my CDA online? This online training program meets the 120-hour curriculum-based training required for the CDA credential. Complete this online child care training at your convenience. Obtain 480 hours of professional work experience in your setting type: center-based preschool, center-based infant-toddler, family child care, home visitor. Prepare your CDA Professional Portfolio and find a CDA Professional Development (PD) Specialist. Apply for your CDA online and save $75 for your CDA Credential using the YourCDA online application system or complete a paper application provided in the CDA Competency Standards Book. How long is a CDA good for? The CDA® credential is valid for three years. Why train with ProSolutions Training? This course does not certify the educator who completes the course. The Application Once you have determined your eligibility and completed the required coursework, purchase the $25 CDA Competency Standards Book from the Council for Professional Recognition. This book will provide you with all of the steps required to prepare for the application process, including: Preparation of the Professional Portfolio – a collection of resources. Reflective Statements of Competence – using, at key points, the resources you collected. Professional Philosophy Statement – a summary of your viewpoint; takes into account learning that occurred when preparing the Professional Portfolio. Family Questionnaires – to be distributed to the families of children in your care; the questionnaires highlight areas of strength as well as areas of growth. The next step is to start the Council for Professional Recognition's application process, either online or on paper. To apply for your initial CDA Credential, the cost is $425 for online applications and $500 for paper applications. CDA candidates save $75 by applying online! As part of the application process, you will select a CDA Professional Development (PD) Specialist from the Council's online directory. This person will observe you working with young children as part of the process. After you complete the CDA Application Process, you will need to take your Childhood Development Associate credential test at a Pearson Vue Testing Center. Eligibility Requirements A minimum of a high school diploma/GED or current enrollment in a high school career/technical program 480 clock hours of experience working with children within three years of beginning your application 120 hours of training in eight subject areas, all covered in The Learning Project Network Training online CDA coursework

30 Hours STARS Training The Child Care Basics course is designed to prepare early learning professionals caring for children to be knowledgeable of child development, resourceful in planning activities, skilled in guiding behavior, and able to maintain healthy environments. Child Care Basics is based on the Washington State Core Competencies for Early Care and Education Professionals as the foundation. Interactive learning activities, video clips, discussion questions, and additional resources provide a variety of learning opportunities. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs and licensing requirements of both child care center staff and family home child care providers. All staff members are required to complete this training.
